The value of the NBA teams just like the value of urban real estate is plunging due to the BLM inspired violence and racial unrest. Many of the owners with huge payrolls and the cities that hold bonds on their stadiums are going to be squeezed out of the business within a few years when they have to default on loans.

My prediction is that when the sky is darkest well funded investment pools will suddenly begin buying up these assets at fire sale prices. No one will be able to trace the funds sources but if they could they would find the money was coming from China. Once China has bought up most of the NBA franchises and stadiums (not to mention prime urban real estate) BLM activists and rioters will suddenly be elected to government offices around the country to manage the remarkable period of peace and prosperity that will follow.

Look at how the Chinese economy is rapidly recovering, Hong Kong dissidents are replaced by US riots in the news, and Joe Biden is on the brink of getting elected due to fear of the Wuhan virus and you understand how the CCP is playing a very long and complicated game of 3d chess while we play checkers.

The Chinese economy is not recovering. They are not growing despite what they say. They are staring at a famine and their manufacturing is fleeing at breakneck speed.

Not to mention the fact that the retribution for unleashing Covid-19 on the world hasn’t even started. When Trump gets reelected look for him to cancel the $3trln in US treasuries China owns. Look for all those Belt and Road countries to say “thanks for the port. It’s the least you could do”.

The trouble with gunboat diplomacy aka Mercantilism is you need the navy to enforce it.

The skies have never been clearer in Hong Kong.
