I wonder if believing the lies of crooked politicians and electing them as our leaders has anything to do with the nation falling short of it's ideals?

The people elect them to run a constitutional government but they use the positions and power we give them to arrange kickbacks and scams that stuff their pockets at the expense of the voters and the nation.
