Democrats, who have unanimously objected to Judge Barrett’s nomination, warned Friday that if hearings were held without an understanding of the full extent of the virus’s spread in Washington, an “already illegitimate process will become a dangerous one.” And they said a virtual hearing for such a significant position would not be acceptable.
