I think you’re allowed to tear down statues you don’t like nowadays.

It was basically allowed -- until Trump made it a federal crime with up to 10 years in prison.

That’s for historical or memorial type statues. Sick freak “art” isn’t covered by Trump’s EO or whatever it was.
