I thought you were using “compromised” to mean had some actual skeleton in the closet that could be exploited. While Roberts’ inexplicable actions in some cases can only be explained in the context of buckling under some type of pressure or influence, we don’t know of anything he has done wrong that could have been used to blackmail him.
But regardless, you seemed to be speaking in the context of confirmation hearings. In that context, I would certainly challenge your assertion that Republicans have had some sort of problem with nominating “compromised” nominees, to use your term. The obvious implication was that you believed that the most recent nominee, Brett Kavanaugh, had actually sexually assaulted women, which is patently absurd and indicates that anyone thinking that had bought the Democrat lies wholesale.
