An abandoned 30lb monster moggy who weighs the same as a three-year-old has embarked on a diet and fitness regime in a desperate bid to shift the 'quarantine flab'.
Lasagna, who tips the scales at a whopping 29.5lbs (2st 1lb) is nearly four times the healthy 8lbs weight for a cat and struggled to walk and groom herself.
The plump cat was found abandoned in a dog crate overnight in Hunting Park by ACCT Philly shelter workers in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Sunday September 20.
Stunned staff put Lasagna, named after Garfield's favorite meal, on a strict diet and had to help her clean herself, a task she found impossible to do due to her size.

Have you ever watched “Tigers of Scotland” on Netflix?
It’s a great documentary about the ancestors of the tabbies that we love so well.

I was going to mention Maine Coon cats. We had one and he weighed around 25 lbs. No fat, just BIG and lots of hair :) They sure do like to “talk” a lot. They say Maine Coon cats are one of the chattiest breeds. We never had to wonder what he was thinking.

My wife’s cat King Kamau is 25 lbs. He is a Maine Coon and really really large.
Thanks. Fabulous idea to add a tad of water to her “fish in her dish.” She HATES fish, but I find it a useful term since my last cat, Andy, loved it. If she’s out in the yard, I stand on the deck and shout, “Who wants fish in the dish?” and she’ll usually scamper upstairs and come in. Sometimes. Once in awhile.
What a sweet face. I hope they can get her trimmed down so she can start cleaning herself again.
I had a wonderful Maine Coon. She was huge, but not as big as this.
30 lbs, how much in cat weight?
Oh, such a sweet boy. So glad he’s going to a forever home.
I love Burmese cats. Have never seen a black one, just the seal-brown ones with golden eyes. The breed is truly beautiful.
LOL Or a moose
