A whale has stunned scientists by staying submerged underwater for almost four hours.
The mammal belongs to the species Curvier's beaked whale, which is known for their diving prowess.
But researchers were amazed by the 222 minute dive time because it is more than seven times longer than the believed maximum duration of the animal's oxygen reserves, just 33 minutes.

It cheated by swallowing a scuba driver earlier in the day. The bubbles are like champagne for whales and sharks.

I’m single. If you don’t hear from me in 2 weeks, the whale won.

Nay, Emperor.
There’s no need for three branches and a Constitution when you have an omnipotent Black woman.

He breathed 100% oxygen before the dive. I think the record without breathing 100% oxygen before the dive is about 11 or 12 minutes.
To: C19fan
There were times in my younger days when breathing out the top of my head would have been an immense benefit
To: C19fan
Goodness gracious. You mean all this time the science on how long a beaked whale can stay submerged hasn’t even been settled but somehow the science on climate change has?

That is her dying wish. Which, as we all know now, supersedes the constitution.

Why the hell does Cuvier get is own beaked whale? No one offered a beaked whale to me!

Can be done but you need to train for years to get to that level. Basically only the old pearl divers who used to go down with no scuba gear could do that.

Is it possible that the whale surfaced unseen to breathe, at least several times?
