Friend, my backyard faces due east. The Atlantic Ocean is all of just eight miles from my back door. Believe me. light pollution is really not a problem here.

On some nights with a new moon I can see one of the spiral arms of the Milky Way. And I can even see The Andromeda Galaxy with the naked eye.
