Well, I probably should have said what *faction* rather than family, but my theory is that the Al waleed faction was the rabid wahabbist faction and the MbS side was the side that we’ve worked with since the beginning. Now, since the objective of the Wahabbists and the Iranians (Hezbollah) have always been the same, destroy the little ‘satan’ then the big ‘satan’ so why not help each other out. It solves something that has puzzled me, Obama very clearly bent over at the waist to kiss the ring of the Saudi king, but all of his big efforts went to appease and feed the Shi’aa. But it makes sense of you figure the enemy of my enemy is my friend (or a necessary evil which I think is a better way of saying it).

And Alwaleed paid for Hussein’s Harvard as far as I know and likely bankrolled him in other ways, so he owed him. Plus Hussein’s father had met with whichever Saudi King was happening in the early 60s, there’s a photo of them together, when MX went on the hajj to Mecca, converted from NOI to Sunni Islam. So there was that connection too. Even before MbS took over, seems to me that Iranians were poking Saudi (like the Hormuz Straits stuff) and then the Iraq/Iran war, and Iranians slaughtering any Iraqis who would not profess to their branch of Islam. Lined ‘em up and shot them in the heads. So I don’t know how closely they’d work together, other in Hussein’s administration.
