Remember when sports was a refuge from politics?
Max Kellerman is an excellent boxing commentator IMO. However, just like any other sportswriter regardless of their political leanings, I don't want to hear their political opinions. I don't tune in for that.
I just posted this on another thread about the passing of Gayle Sayers.
Of all the things I hate about the Left, one of the things that rankles me at a very personal level is their deliberate destruction of Pro Football.
I have watched it avidly, and had great times with friends and family doing so since I watched my first game (after my family returned from half a decade at duty stations overseas) a Sunday night game between the Redskins and Bears back in 1971 where Dick Butkus caught a botched PAT while laying flat on his back in the end zone. I had never watched a football game, and watching it on a little black and white television really hooked me.
Now I cannot enjoy it at all, and that makes me damned angry.
