I agree. Waiting out a suspect out costs money.

So then a command decision has to be made. Is the bad guy bad enough to wait him out? If so, wait him out. If not, have your officers continue patrol. Maybe you’ll scoop the bad guy up at a traffic stop, or whatever.

I just don’t think a no-knock raid should be made for financial reasons. It’s too dangerous for everyone involved.

I’m never going to say never when it comes to no-knock raids.

I’ll tell you what I think the biggest problems with policing are:

1) Insane pension obligations that take money away from recruiting and keeping great hires.

2) Political correctness that also affects recruiting and retention, not to mention public safety.

3) Unrealistic expectations from the public given what LE is given to work with.

And the last few months have added another...

4) LE members who are content to be used by politicians for political ends.

That last one has done a huge amount of damage to public trust.
