I understand, and agree with that.
Genetics seems, to me, to be the main driver of longevity.
I know people who lived to their late 90’s that drank, smoked, and ate whatever.
I know athletes that died young from cancer.
I just try to make what I believe to be the best decisions, combined with living how I desire.
I love working out and playing sports.
I eat paleo, lift 3 times a week, play volleyball, meditate daily, try to laugh often, and go for walks whenever the weather is accommodating.
Detach from the outcome and enjoy the process/journey...
I agree, if you love working out, and being in good shape, then heck yes! by all means do it. But don’t do it if you actually hate it but thinking.. well.. yeah... this is awful, but I’ll live longer!
I had two close family members who might have lived into their 90s if they hadn't smoked. Both died in their sixties and in both cases, their attending physicians said that they were in great health except for the damage that tobacco caused. Both died of lung cancer.
