This was the Dave Brat seat who took out Eric Cantor. Very satisfying. So why did he lose the GOP held seat(48 years!) to Spanberger? You tell me. She's a young(er) looker and that's how they capitalize on our shortcomings. We should take it back but then we have to think long term-2022. Don't know much about Nick Freitas. Green Beret. Lost a Senate nomination so his attention might be on higher office. Lower your sights dude and concentrate on your limitations.
Redistricting took out Dave Brat.
It’s 16 house races I’ve written on-one each morning. We need 18 and these districts were won by Trump. We should take them back and I think we will. My only issue is the lukewarm interest on this forum towards the nuts-and-bolts races that will give us our majority. We will always need the leadership Trump provides but it worries me when he’s gone. Perhaps he should turn it over to Pence half-way into his 2nd term to haul all OUR feet to the fire. An overwhelming victory will allow him to do all that in just 2 years.
Cantor was one of Paul Ryan's Lieutenants, nuff said.
That makes Cantor’s defeat even more joyful.
Now she has a record - 92 to 94% of the time voting with Nancy and 87 to 89% of the time voting with AOC. Nick also has record in the Virginia House of Delegates - and it is solid. He is also a cash-raising machine with great charisma.
Nick's campaign is knocking doors along with associated other groups (i.e., AFP, Family Foundation Action, etc.). The Dems are not.
Sadly though TX 21 and TX 23 are potential losses.
Dam pols......they never stay dead.....like the ghouls in Night of The Living Dead.
They get a taste of politics and never let go.
Scott Taylor spoke to a gathering near me (VA-2) and said internal polling shows him beating Elaine Luria. I’m voting today on my way home from work.
I’m curious how this race will go as it’s my district. I have to give Spanberger credit, her commercials are everywhere. Freitas is nowhere to be found. The way the GOP runs things in the district is a total cluster. Your points about voting with Pelosi 90% of the time and AOC should be the commercial. Why the GOP can’t figure that out boggles the mind.

correct, the point being they were thick as thieves.
Also, Spanberger had mountains of out of state financial support and manpower (Hollywood people like Alec Baldwin came to the Richmond area to knock on doors for her). Add to that a significant people voted for DemonRats as a protest against Trump’s “nasty tweets”. Before riots in Richmond this year, the mythical “suburban moms” felt safer with Democrats than with Trump tweets. That dynamic might be dramatically weaker now.
But the big effort is in grass-roots activities like door knocking. To date, Nick's campaign and groups have knocked more than 90,000 doors. Abbie's crew have knocked none.
Tx 21 & 23. Wendy Davis the baby killer advocate will beat the incumbent. Sad but you can’t blame her for not going away. She can peddle her looks on a lower stage. 23 was just barely won by Will Hurd. who’s quitting. Good for him(us).
Same reason Michigan lost Governor race in 2018. Our GOP candidate ran lousy campaign. He focused on attacking Whitmer vs what he was running for. He also didn’t have former Gov Snyder backing. Whitmer campaign was motivated and “fix the dam roads” promise propelled her to a win.
