Mostly because unless you bring about 700+ horsepower, your car is *not* going to out-accelerate my motorcycle and I don’t see any reason to bother with you if you didn’t. There aren’t many cars that can do 0-60 in 2.8 seconds or run high 9s/very low 10s in the quarter. Half throttle is enough to see off most ‘hot’ cars and that’s my normal pace for setting off from lights.

I felt the same way when I was able to ride my bike (my arthritis keeps me from being able to ride for the last 10 years now.) Frankly, while I miss being able to ride, given the idiocy of most car drivers today, I'm glad I gave up riding, though I really miss riding on the track.

It is more fun to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car slow.
