Shooting them isn’t effective in significantly reducing the numbers. The sounder may have anywhere from half a dozen - 40 or more pigs. If you and a couple of buddies manage to find them and you’re equipped with thermal vision scopes at the first shot they star running. So you get one for sure and if you’re all good at hitting fast moving targets maybe three more. Next night they’ll be someplace else so you keep looking and find them again after a few days. Still hard to hit and kill any significant number. You can spend ever night for weeks and not get rid of one sounder. Best way is to trap them in a corral trap and then shoot them before they can dig out.
