Today I Gave My Dad A Choice: Trump or His Grandkids and His Son

I wrote earlier about trying to express my reasons to my dad in a calm and intellectual manner. I actually thought I had been calm and well-reasoned. I thought I might even be making progress.

Today I found out he put a Trump sign in his yard.

I got pissed. Really pissed. And I sent him and my mom a text message. Hands shaking, tears in eyes. This is what it said:

Due to the signs in the yard, the kids and I will not be down. The current occupant of the White House is preaching hate and violence, endangering the lives and safety of many of my friends. This is not acceptable to me at all. There is a complete disregard for women, minorities, science, ethics, and morality. Please consider if you support Trump that much. Because I hate him that much. I wanted to be upfront and honest about my feelings.

Thanks, but I should've elaborated. That was my grandson with his favorite Gonzaga player, Killian Tillie. The picture was taken last November, after the Zags beat Texas A&M in College Station.

That picture was displayed prominently on my traditional Christmas gift from him, a coffee cup adorned with pictures from events of that year. Starting this year, I'll be getting two coffee cups for Christmas, as my granddaughter arrived in June.

I'm hoping for many more before I pass on, and they'll be keepsakes for them, good memories with their Opa.

I thank the dear Lord that my two adult children are TOTALLY Trump supporters. I think from little on, we talked politics, told them about Jane Fonda the treasonous XXXX, old George Soros, they knew about many, many years ago.

Taught them to think for themselves and pay attention to what their kids are learning in school. I remember having to haul my kids out of “AIDS classes” in middle school. AAACH. My daughter said she was the only one not allowed in class. I explained to her why and she understood.

Pray for PDJT and his safety, his victory, his family and all who support him.

This is the sort of person who derives the most value from boot camp. I joined the military years ago to get my head on straight, set priorities and so forth. When boot camp was over, it was mission accomplished. Still had 3 yrs 9 mos. to go. But, it was worthwhile and I recommend it, especially to girly men like Guinon.

My son who had been at least a moderate Republican, is supporting Biden. He has fully drunk of the mainstream media Trump hate kool-aid and even has donated to the Biden campaign. I know he thinks his Dad is a nut case to support Trump, but we thankfully do not argue. I worry that if Biden prevails my grandchildren will grow up in a socialist if not Marxist society. They will be told in school that they do not count as they were born white in a racist world view straight from Mein Kampf. They will be taught that American was founded by evil men and that the Constitution and individual rights do not exist. While I hope it not to be true they could see their grandfather hauled off to a re-education camp or worse still denied medical care or simply be euthanized because of his beliefs. They will live in a violent world where thugs are not punished and human life is cheap. They could end up like kids in Venezuela eating from garbage cans while the elites live in luxury. My son is deluded with Trump hate and fails to see the existential choice in this election. Pray for this country.
