He was the general secretary of the committee that wrote its charter, and he founded it upon the 1936 USSR constitution.

Interestingly enough, the late RBG’s preference for South Africa’s constitution has the same foundation, since that constitution is also patterned after the USSR’s constitution.

If you have read “The Gulag Archipelago” by Alexandr Solzhenitsyn, it is interesting that he said the Soviet Constitution was the most perfect document imaginable, protected the rights of the citizen down to the nth degree, and fastidiously had to be available to any citizen at any time to view and consult (by government order0.

Except that it was simply a piece of paper that the government interpreted in a way to be able to do whatever they wanted to do.

That is, I fear what has been happening to us for some time now.
