I was 50 miles from Sylmar and Northridge. Never was scared of quakes until those two. One of my neighbors moved to Las Vegas after Northridge.
We lived in Perris when the 2 quakes hit in 1992 around Landers. I just got done reassuring my 8 year old daughter not to worry, that there were just gonna be small aftershocks after that....and then the second one hit. We moved to Arizona shortly after that.
