Actually, studies have been done that show that people who keep up with and root for their home sports teams are happier and have more of a sense of belonging to a community..... Anything that puts a smile on your face is a good thing including your team winning..... Is it important? No, but still something positive..... Unfortunately all the major sports leagues have lost sight of the fact that sports is supposed to bring people together and not be political
but when there are no good guys, its just nonsense....there's nothing to be excited about, nor proud....
That’s may be the local sports! Little kids trying to make a basket and rejoicing if they get one is fun! It is actually a lot more interesting, because you can expect anything to happen! They are the community bonding exercise! And lets face it, sports is healthy on this level.
The pros are too good! There is no guessing. They will make the basket! All professional sports deteriorated to few specific plays, played over and over again, scientifically proven to be the most productive. I am quite sure that at this level sports are not even healthy, and probably heavily medicated.
Unless you happened to live near some franchise stadium, and have a lot of money to pay for the tickets, you are watching some teams on TV, thousands of miles away, with players who are drafted from places thousands of miles from their team location, even from different continents, switching teams on the dime. What is that for the community spirit?
