Media trying to normalize teaching biased history in schools in this article:

“ The teaching of U.S. History in public schools has always been political, and such concerns about whether curricula are “anti-American” are par for the course in moments of turmoil.”

To heck with textbook authors/publishers, and that rag Time. A good teacher *knows* what/how to teach and chooses resources appropriately - textbooks are merely one optional tool. Otherwise, parents, principal, superintendent, and school board will/should release that individual.

From the “Time” article:

“...there are no legally enforceable national requirements for which topics in American history must be taught. Content decisions are made locally, at the state and school district levels, and it’s almost impossible to enforce what teachers are talking about in the classroom.”

Despite the above quote, unfortunately, the federal government has been allowed to take over/away our educational system from parents, localities, and states. - A top-down system is bass ackwards whether on a national level or within a school district/state.

Parents are/should be responsible for holding accountable their school board and teachers.

Parents do/should have conversations with their children regarding the teaching/learning in school.

I am retired now, thank goodness!
