I’ve seen convictions for over prescribing on justice.gov.
OTOH,I've had both my hips replaced...at a world famous hospital.I was prescribed 90 oxys after each one. I took about 10 and flushed the rest...never asked for a refill.
In the 70’s My Doctors and Myself decided the only thing I could do was to get addicted to opiates, They gave me a prescription for All the Percodan I could take. Percodan is yesterdays Oxycontin without the time release. In the beginning normal doses(1 @ 4 hrs) was sufficient, by the time the 3 month wait to have surgery was over, I was taking 50 a DAY!!! My Doctors from the Beginning scheduled me to be in the Hospital 3 weeks, the First week was to go through Withdrawl’s to get the crap out of my system before the 12 hour surgery, which I did in a Hospital Bed. Then 2 weeks to recover from the Surgery
After the Surgery, the real pain was gone and I was clean.
Real Pain = When the Drug wears off you go into SHOCK and PASS OUT.
a whole lot of people get pain pills for minor discomfort and Doctors and Insurance companies don’t give a damn if you get addicted, they used to.
