I doubt very much that Becker was referring to cunnilingus, which is what those slamming him seem to have interpreted his comments to mean. As usual, such outrage tells us more about the outraged than the outragee. A quick search turns up several results pertaining to the presentation of food.

Agreed. Calling a pretty girl a "dish" used be be normal and complimentary.
