Shameful. Or, rather, shameless. Alas, theft by first responders, mortuary and nursing home staffers, etc., is not all that uncommon. In Chicago many moons ago, it was discovered that firemen had stolen expensive kitchen equipment -- meat slicers and such -- from a restaurant that caught fire late one night.

As a long time retired Fire Captain and vet, there is no way that would ever ever happen under my watch. I believe what you said is BS

Even better, this was witnessed, but before cell phones. A independently owned furniture and appliance store caught fire and the responders were taking turns between fire fighting to haul out large white appliances and big furniture items. The owner, on the scene didn't seem upset but he bent the fire company's co about his men putting out the fire first. A lot of the ‘appropriated’ items ended up in several fire houses. That's Chicago for you.

in KCMO on Prospect I was working security next to a pawn shop and a black van pulled in, the driver had removed the magnetic signs but put them on the dash, they said funeral, he went in and sold what he had and left the plates were for a large funeral home, I guess you really cant take it with you even if you try.
