"Maryland, My Maryland remains controversially Marylands state song. But it wont be heard this Preakness day or likely ever again at Pimlico snapping a tradition that dated back to 1909.
A company spokesperson confirmed the move September 10.
The Maryland Jockey Clubs decision to ditch the song came as part of the companys, and the nations, reckoning with issues of race and racism that have come to the fore this year following the death of George Floyd, a Minneapolis man killed by police.

“following the death of George Floyd, a Minneapolis man killed by police.”
I guess we don’t need to bother with a trial.

I heard the NBC shill on the Kentucky Derby broadcast say that Breanna Taylor “was murdered.” Was she “murdered”? If not, isn’t that open to a lawsuit?

“Controversially?” Since when has a state name been controversial?
I, for one, am super ticked off at the name Illinois. I grew up in Des Plaines, a suburb of Chicago.
So yeah, I’m mad at Illinois and Chicago and even Des Plaines.
/silliness
This is beyond ridiculous.

The Twilight Zone series of 50 or so years ago nailed what is ongoing in our society today in plenty of episodes. Every time I think of "The Obsolete Man" I think of a world in which liberals reign.

Gawd, they said that? Figures (we live just south of Louisville, our hometown, and it's been 100+ days of protests/riots largely cause of this case) Protesters have been screaming she was murdered in her sleep by cops that raided the wrong house on a no knock warrant. Problem is, she WASN'T asleep, they were at the right house, the police knocked and she and her BF were both screaming "WHO IS IT" when the BF fired a warning shot and cops fired back. This awesome BF of hers even told cops SHE was the one who shot, then changed his mind
'Clearly, I was scared' : Newly released police interviews shed light on Breonna Taylor case Just recently a rather lengthy police report was leaked
39 pages of prison phone transcripts and surveillance footage that suggest Ms. Taylor wasn't the saint that the protesters made her out to be. What happened to her was awful, but I've been watching my hometown get utterly wrecked over a lot of misinformation and there's no end in sight.

From the article: In the poem, Lincoln and the Union are described as despotic, tyrannical, and finally, as Northern scum.

Forgot to add to the wall of txt: the FBI/Attorney general investigation in the Breonna Taylor case is in front of a grand jury now
Sourceand we're expecting a decision soon. Fully expect Louisville to burn if the cops involved aren't charged cause our idiot Dem state gov and idiot city mayor have no balls and didn't stop the protests on Day One.

Mike Tirico who I guess makes plenty of money for talking about football. I am unfamiliar with him but his bias showed on the Belmont broadcast when he said Times Square was barren due to the coronavirus. No mention of the riots of course. But then his Nazi-speak was apparent in the Ky. Derby broadcast. I usually watch simlucast feed of racing but the NBC telecast and its political infiltration was so bad that Tirico and his allied were obviously told what to think and say or at least I assume that.

In the poem, Lincoln and the Union are described as despotic Heck, if that's the case, then the BLM crowd should hail it as a fitting song for their anti-Americanism.

Her death was one of many deaths of all races during a no knock warrant. Bad law. But they didn’t bust in her home to murder her.

“Im beginning to think we have become to stupid to survive.”
I’m assuming by we you mean “whites”. At this rate we are the future Neanderthals. Actually worse. I don’t think Neanderthals committed mass suicide like we’re in the process of doing.
We are the only race that is so easily guilted. It’s like we relish finding things we can blame ourselves for.

They had the bugler play ‘My Old Kentucky Home’ but did NOT have the lyrics on the screen as they have in years past, and it was also preceded by a moment of silence. Not seeing any fans in attendance singing along with it was like a dagger to the heart.
