Of course I just made that up. But for a bit there, you had an image of a monkey flying past the Empire State building. Now use the internet and social media to pump out a story that some people want to believe anyhow (like Trump is a racist), and repeat it 24/7 day after day in different ways, and presto! You’ve created an alternate reality.
