You might do well to educate yourself on current data analytic models. Supercomputers CAN analyze things across vectors that humans cannot comprehend. Imagine you are trying to understand a relationship between items. If you have 2 vectors, you can create a 2D graph and understand relationships between the numbers (what is above average or below average results. You can even do this with a third variable and create a 3d graphic. But when you have n variables, the human brain cannot conceive of an n-d graphic where n=100 or 1000 or any number you can think of. But a computer can. What this comes down to is ... humans can imagine a potential solution to a problem, and we often call that imagined solution our “intuition” or an intuitive guess, but the computer can actually run the math and prove or invalidate the intuition. In this regard, humans are necessary to understand how to form/pose the question, and identify the known variables to consider, but it is up to the computers to prove if the theory actually works, because that “knowledge” is beyond human ability to determine.

Fauci will say the computations were anecdotal.

It also suggests 10-plus potential treatments, many of which are already FDA approved.

Then we need to immediately pull the FDA approval for these treatments regardless of how good they may be for other maladies because orange man bad.

From the article:

"The bradykinin hypothesis also extends to many of Covid-19’s effects on the heart. About one in five hospitalized Covid-19 patients have damage to their hearts, even if they never had cardiac issues before. Some of this is likely due to the virus infecting the heart directly through its ACE2 receptors. But the RAS also controls aspects of cardiac contractions and blood pressure. According to the researchers, bradykinin storms could create arrhythmias and low blood pressure, which are often seen in Covid-19 patients."

That jives with this recent, eye-opening article: One-third of Big Ten athletes with COVID-19 have heart inflammation, Penn State doctor says.

You are correct.

But there’s something very seductive about AI. As a result, if you diminish it’s value, those who believe in AI will respond as though you’ve insulted their girlfriend.

Just like pot smokers—it’s their best friend and you can’t criticize it.

So like is yoga to exercise, AI is the marijuana of technology.

No, the team of chess players and programmers who wrote chess code for Deep Blue beat Kasparov.

Without the programmers and chess guys Deep Blue can’t play chess.

I made a tiny demo of a smart CW device a few years ago using an ARM processor. If you take the key and send messages to it using Morse it appears like it has at least a tiny bit of brain in it. I created it to handle the kind of QSO cw guys use when in a CW contest. I put it on the air once during such a contest and the guys on the other end did not know the difference. It gave the appearance of AI because it remembered the calls and if someone tried to contact it a second time it would send...”We already exchanged info earlier.” It also remembered various other simple facts and could regurgitate them to the guy on the other end. BUT THE ARM PROCESSOR WAS AS DUMB AS A ROCK

It was just a good simulation I created in plain old C code.

The fact that a CPU running a program can “learn” i.e. remember callsigns, QTH, weather conditions..etc does NOT mean there is ANY actual intelligence. It is merely the programmer updating the code using algorithms s/he wrote...nothing more.

Turing was wrong about AI, the mere fact that a computer can fool a human into believing it is smart means nothing.

The computer is simply mankind’s most powerful tool.

First I will say I’m not sold on the premise of the article. Early i. there was some concern about whether we should be stopping ACE inhibitors in covid infection. Current thinking is remaining on ace inhibitors during infection does no harm and may actually lessen the severity of illness.

Yes. about all the effects being mediated through bradykinin and the connection the the RAS system. Some of what they said sounded off but i don’t have the article in front of me right now

I agree. It seems that programs like Googles AlphaGo and AlphaZero are algorithms with the ability to learn. They do not need a program on how to play Go or chess. They can receive the rules and then play millions of games refining their ability as they go. Alpha chess played 44 million games against itself. It was then had its own unique strategy on how to play the game. A master who played it said AlphaZero used its king as an offensive piece. It looks like that is what was done with the virus.

Vitamin D3 is supposed to be the most effective. sunshine is also very effective as it produces Vitamin D. Closing parks, beaches, any recreation area is absolutely counter productive to stopping CV-19. So why did Fauci do it?? Masks don’t work either

China and the USA have collaborated in studying and modifying this thing in the lab in WuHan long before the “accident.”

So does taking ACE inhibitors help fight covid or not?

Most studies (I have seen) have NOT been able to show a susceptibility or mortality risk. For example:
This JAMA study was published in June: Association of Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme Inhibitor or Angiotensin Receptor Blocker Use With COVID-19 Diagnosis and Mortality

The study above is indicative of other studies done. The initial concern about ACE inhibitors was due to the fact they up regulate ACE2 receptors. The ones the virus uses. This was all hypothesis based on the action of the virus and the action of the medication. The study could not find a significant difference in age matched patients showing that ACE Inhibitors are likely safe in practice

There was similar concern for Metformin (diabetes medication) some wondered if it would be helpful or hurtful. A Chinese observational study suggests it's helpful:
Metformin Treatment Was Associated with Decreased Mortality in COVID-19 Patients with Diabetes in a Retrospective Analysis

Metformin has anti-inflammatory properties that are theorized to be the reason for the benefit in the study above.

Now if you are taking an ACE-I for blood pressure or heart disease and you are taking Metformin for diabetes. You are already in a high-risk group for COVID-19 problems, regardless of the medications you are taking. This is why you should discuss this with your doctor before stopping any medications. You may think you are protecting yourself from COVID-19 but in reality you may just be worsening the chronic conditions you already have.

Yep. It syncs with much of the other information that we’ve seen about symptoms and damage. Very interesting.
