President Donald Trump is considering spending as much as $100 million of his own money in a final campaign push to beat Democratic nominee Joe Biden in Novembers election, according to a new report.
People familiar with the discussions told Bloomberg that the Republican president has talked about the idea with multiple people but hasnt committed to it at this time.
Trump contributed $66 million to his 2016 campaign, but it is unprecedented for an incumbent president to use his own funds in attempting to win a second term in office.
The report comes as Biden and the Democratic National Committee raised $365 million in August, breaking a one-month record of $193 million that Barack Obama set in 2008 and narrowing Trumps cash advantage.
Trump and the Republican National Committee have not released their August fundraising numbers yet, but reported they raised $76 million during the GOP convention last month.
President Trumps fundraising is breaking records and we are paying close attention to the budget, allowing us to invest twice as much from now until Election Day than we did in 2016, Trump campaign spokesman Tim Murtaugh told Bloomberg.
President Trump has also built the worlds greatest digital fundraising operation, a dominant ground game, and a third advantage Joe Biden can never match enthusiasm.
Trump and the RNC have spent over $800 million since January 2019 on the campaign, while Biden and the DNC have spent about $414 million during roughly the same time period, according to Bloomberg.
Trumps ability to quickly come up with the funds is unclear at this time; his net worth has declined $300 million in the past year to $2.7 billion, the Bloomberg Billionaires Index reported.
According to Trumps most recent financial disclosure at the end of 2019, he has between $46.7 million and $156.5 million in various savings, checking and money market accounts.
Trumps campaign pulled most of his television advertising at the end of August, The Associated Press reported.
Biden, meanwhile, doubled Trumps advertisement spending across the country last month, investing big time in ads in key battleground states like Wisconsin and Florida.
I just donated 150.00
The Trump campaign has plenty of cash on hand. I’m not buying this story.
I will be donating again in a couple of days. GO TRUMP GO
i think PDJT needs to spend a lot more time and money on voter outreach (especially, with his straight forward non-pandering style, in areas where R’s have traditionally been afraid to campaign or even visit, since there’s a lot of growing support for him in those neighborhoods)
and obviously he needs big margins in Mi, Wi, Pa, Fl, and so forth.... to overcome all the massive D voter fraud (and vote counting, and vote certification) fraud that’s underway. I’ve never seen such a huge and comprehensive (from alpha to omega) organized vote fraud in my life!
I figure PDJT needs to win by at least what, 10 percent? just to overcome the D election-stealing-machinery

You’re right. And I don’t think THIS one is about how much is spent or by whom.
Trump already won... that train left the station months ago
Wisconsin. Rasmussen has Trump way down in Wisconsin. We’ll see, of course. Pulled TV when one should be heavy up???
Rasmussen has Trump catering in PA also.
I donated like a madman in 2016 but this year I have been holding off because, despite his promises, Trump has. it shut down the H1-B foreign work visas that have devastated Americans in the STEM fields. When he shuts it down then I will start donating.
Biden thanks you. Hell never do what you want, if God forbid, he is elected.
I still don’t understand how Trump can be 50-52% approval and down so much in any of the rust belt states.... let alone 45% support among blacks.
The polls are BS, that’s how.
They push these polls to try to set up the narrative that if Trump wins, they didn’t count all the ballots.
Rasmussen doesn’t usually have that problem.
