Maybe it's a side effect of the nuclear waste that was deposited on the Dark side of the Moon?

"It's very puzzling," the study's lead author, Shuai Li of the University of Hawaii, said in a statement. "The moon is a terrible environment for hematite to form in." Caused by the tears of the Man on the Moon, who is deeply saddened!

Leftards will blame this on Trump pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord.

I’m sure someone will eventually blame the U.S. for sending men up there and polluting the moon.

Apollo 11 was a triumph of engineering based on tested science and ingenuity. Not much has changed about that knowledge except this water stuff. Mars too.

Of these two discoveries, only the part about the moon rusting is new — I recall reading about scientists being stunned when the AGW thing started up.

Once upon a Time.....When the moon was young it had a strong magnetic field which attracted all the magnetic meteoroids to the moon’s poles, then a bit of Earth’s atmospheric trailing ‘plume’, that is blown off by the solar wind, envelopes the moon. Solar storms increase the amount of atmosphere blown off and then attracted. (NOT!)
