It is two years this week since Germany invaded Poland. That European conflict soon became a global one. Japan's invasion of China began two years before that, but with Japan allied to the Axis Powers, they are now the same conflict. Those Axis are all fighting together now to try and defeat the Soviet Union, but the war has grown not just in the scale of the armies fighting, but also in the scale of man's inhumanity to man. We see that this week in German occupied territory.
Indie Nidel also did a week-by-week series on World War I that’s worth looking at as well. Lot’s of stuff covered on fronts usually ignored by U.S. histories.
Great series. The level of detail covered is outstanding and the fact that the whole thing is covered in a linear sequence rather than being broken up from one front to the next gives you a great overview of how events in one theater affected events in other theaters.
No one noticed. It barely made the news in Poland. Lol.
Japan was not fighting trying to defeat the Soviet Union. Japan and the USSR had a neutrality pact that kept them from fighting each other until mid 1945, when the USSR saw the opportunity to let the treaty lapse and go for a land grab..
I can’t take 5 years to see how it ends.
So what happens? Who wins?
Or the story was spiked by the Polish MSM.
Just a hint...we get to the semi-finals.
Bttt
I have to watch, will check it out.
I will jump ahead to the semi-finals : )
Since you asked, the Duchy of Grand Fenwick won in overtime. Here we see their victory parade through New York City. Notice how they were ever-alert for snipers.
