President Trump told a reporter to remove his face mask during a Labor Day press conference at the White House on Monday, arguing that he couldn't hear the "muffled" question.
After touting the United States’ economic recovery in the wake of the coronavirus and slamming his Democratic rival Joe Biden as a “pawn” for China, Trump opened up the conference for questions. When Jeff Mason of Reuters stood up to speak, Trump interjected.
"You're going to have to take that off, please. You can take it off. How many feet are you away?" the president said.
Mason declined to remove his mask, but offered to "speak a lot louder."
"Well, if you don't take it off -- you're very muffled," Trump responded, "so if you would take it off, it would be a lot easier."
Mason again offered to speak "a lot louder," and raised his voice as he asked Trump "Is that better
Trump sighed, responding hesitantly, "It's better."
The president appeared to take a jab at Mason at a later point in the conference when he observed that another reporter who removed his mask sounded "so clear...as opposed to everybody else, where they refuse."

I wore my “Placebo” mask everyday during my week at Disney World last month. It was a big hit — ppl stopped me multiple times a day to tell me they loved it. Hubby got tons of positive comments about his Trump mask, and we only saw 1 Biden mask.
Mason is like Acosta with a bald head, only dumber.

trump should have just told that reporter that he couldn’t understand him with the mask on, and then just called for the next question from a different reporter ...

I was watching Kelly Ripa show this morning and they had actress Hillary Swank on from her home. She put on a white translucent mask she made and it was nearly transparent so you know no virus protection. She showed off her 2 Oscars statues and they had tiny masks on them.
They’re all muffled when they ask those questions but I suppose it doesn’t make much difference as they’re only trying to get a rise out of the president anyway. What did I see today with several people - many feet apart and still wearing masks...Can’t recall right now - it was a only a few people sitting in a semi circle...ridiculous! Maybe it was with Harris and she’s still wearing Hillary’s black pantsuit!!!
He needs to change his face diaper.
