After you get the corrupted display shown in "DESKTOP SCREENSHOT," can you open a window that has readable text? I see that your taskbar still looks normal.
Is the problem only with your desktop background?

The desktop looks like that screenshot.
The other pages are readable but all of the color schemes are really bad.
If a page has a color background, it is badly displayed.
