That's the problem. He's 'one of us'. Trump was a private citizen until winning the presidency. He lived as a private citizen, worked as a private citizen, paid taxes etc. He sees things through our eyes, through the eyes of an American private citizen and they hate him for it because they hate us.

He truly is, during our lifetime, the first actual citizen President.
