I would first ask your liberal friend to define “oppressed”. Nobody ever forces Leftists to define their terms, and worse, we let them set the definitions and change the definitions as they wish, which they use as weaponry.

Are the “oppressed” he or she refers to, domestic “oppressed” or worldwide “oppressed”?

If they are domestic oppressed, would an example of “oppressed” be blacks Americans who aren’t working? Or would it be something else?

Economic Oppresson and Political Oppression are inextricably intertwined and go together hand in glove. But the obverse is also true: Economic Freedom and Political Freedom are joined at the waist. You cannot have one without the other.

FACT: Donald Trump has promoted economic policies that produced the LOWEST levels of black unemployment in history. The Left doesn’t like that, so they move the goalposts to focus on some other aspect that suits their narrative.

If those characterizations of political freedom and economic freedom are true, then it is indisputable that he helped the oppressed.

And one more thing to keep in mind: If your leftist friend is talking about the “oppressed” in a world wide category, remember that Saddam Hussein’s Iraq had plenty of real, oppressed people in it. Arguments about the correct course of action to take may be had, but the FACT that there was a huge population of oppressed people in that country is indisputable.

The segment of the US population that excoriated Bush for committing troops there are largely composed of your leftist friend and his or her leftist friends who didn’t want us to take part in helping those “oppressed” people.

Your Leftist friend and his/her friends were also supportive of a President who did nothing to help oppressed people in Iran who were on the verge of rising up, and Obama did nothing to help them.

In addition to lowering block unemployment, President Trump has also established enterprise zones in inner-city neighborhoods to help black businesses and entrepreneurs to thrive.
