anyone who came back from drownings or lightning strikes,
please tell your story.
It might distract us from the stress of ‘waiting for Durham’...
On Big Island, early 80s, Kalapana beach. Notorious for undertow. Covered with lava now. I was a pretty good swimmer, used to swimming in good sized waves. Went out with about 2 dozen other people in the water, not even over my head, swimming around. Noticed I was being pulled swiftly away from everyone out to sea, to the side, tried my very best to swimm fast. No luck. Waves pulled me under and soon I was in a washing machine being bounced on the bottom, banging into the sand over and over. I knew in a few seconds my lungs would fill with water and I was utterly helpless.
I prayed, “My Dear Lord, if You want me to live, please save me. If you want to take me, please protect me”. Not out loud, was instantaneous. I saw a beautiful vision and within seconds was thrown out by the waves onto a spit of rocks. dozens of yards down the beach. I was a bit bruised and trembling but managed to walk back to my friends.
It is now less than 60 days to the election... my expectations are low. :^( {DoJ policy not to interfere in elections 60 days prior to official election day. Depends on how political they view some of these miscreants. Catching Clinesmith is like catching the mail room guy.}
When I was 8 my father was struck by lightning in our horse barn. He had polio as a child so had a metal brace on his leg. It killed him. I was standing next to him so I got picked up and thrown across the barn. I dont remember much but got up and new my dad was dead. A few of the horses died. My mom saved hers but its back was on fire. So needless to say Im still scared of lightning storms.
Drowning:
Deep free dive of about 40 ft to try and spear some grouper. Down too long (about 2 mins). Had my head up when surfacing and as soon as my mask broke the surface I inhaled all water and went out. Buddy got me to the beach. Never told my parents because we were skipping school. They wondered why I had bronchitis for 6 months.
Lightening:
Climbing over a cow gate and tree next to it was hit. Knocked me flat, but not out. Minutes later I realized my hair was sticking straight out and it was long. Good news is there were 6 catfish ready to be skinned and unharmed.
