Oh, and now reading your thread, maybe it wasn’t the plugs being pulled - that water looks pretty choppy for a small craft.
Could be a combination of a missing plug and being swamped. There’s only so much that a pump can remove.
I confess I don’t know much about boats and sailing, but smaller craft might have a problem with wake turbulence, and people used to navigating in two dimensions (i.e. automobile) might have a bit of problem, with little training or experience, dealing with fluid dynamics in three dimensions.
