NO ROLE FOR MILITARY: The Pentagon has brushed aside as frivolous and unconstitutional a suggestion from a pair of retired Army officers that the military be prepared to escort President Trump from office forcibly should he refuse to accept election results showing him to be the loser.
In an op-ed cast as an open letter to Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs, the retired officers wrote, “In a few months’ time, you may have to choose between defying a lawless president or betraying your Constitutional oath. We write to assist you in thinking clearly about that choice. If Donald Trump refuses to leave office at the expiration of his constitutional term, the United States military must remove him by force, and you must give that order.”
“I would just say we have a Constitution, and our Constitution, which all members of the military have sworn an oath to, provides no role for the U.S. military as arbiter of political or election disputes,” said spokesman Jonathan Hoffman, at a Pentagon briefing Thursday. “This issue appears to be born of unserious thought reflecting a fundamental lack of appreciation for the history of our democracy and the civilian-military relationship established under our Constitution.”

Obviously the dems have already got this gamed out. There will be a never ending supply of mail in ballots (all dem) arriving at crucial locations. Trump will sue, dems will sue, RNC will counter sue and it will be the grand high lama of FUBARs. We are in really uncharted waters here. The Constitution will be ignored and it will be a free for all. Let’s hope the title of an old Confederate song is true. “God will defend the Right”.
The networks won’t be calling any states because of mail-in ballots.
They’ve already told us it would appear to be a big win for Trump on election night, but that mail in ballots would make Biden the winner a week later.
Since the election results don't take effect until January, I would hope they don't try to enforce anything in November.
