I understand the last few sentences. LaSalles were marketed as “entry level” Cadillacs before WW2. During the postwar period Chevys and Pontiacs shared many parts, in fact Canadian Pontiacs were essentially rebadged Chevys, they even used Chevy engines through the 60’s, some were shipped to Australia and New Zealand and converted to right hand drive. Our friends in the Great White North and Down Under called tham Cheviacs. Canadian Dodges were basically Plymouths, nicknamed Plodges.
