Theres probably as good a chance of both of us dying when the caldera blows as there is of me dying from Covid.
Lets say for sake that that thing would go. The problem is, it hasnt enough eruptable magma within its system for a major eruption.
If it did go, it would most likely be Mount St Helens sized.
The west thumb of lake Yellowstone is a caldera of a smaller eruption. There have been many smaller such eruptions in hat system since the last super eruption.
The one to watch..is the Long Valley Caldera. The Magma is up into the mountains around that caldera...higher than the valley floor.
