Since I’m new to this thread, I don’t know what’s been posted and what hasn’t, but I found this pattern and will make it for a friend of mine for Day of the Dead.

https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/lost-souls-skull-shawl

You can find it in other colors if you put it in the search window of DuckDuckGo.com (no tracking) I’ve ordered the yarn and as soon as it comes, I’ll make it up. I’m not sure how to post the finished photo, but I’ll try to do that!

I brought home The Blue Ribbon from the Iowa County Fair! It probably helped that I was the only one that entered a crocheted afghan, but I'll take it!

I am leaving it on 'display' until Beau gets back from Alaska. The Black Bear in the background is the 480# he got in 2016; the biggest one in Wisconsin that season. The ceilings in the Family Room are 14' high, so that bear rug is massive, and heavy! The head mount is an Elk he got in Colorado a number of years back.

The windows that you see used to be the windows on the front of the house, before Beau added on the Family Room with a 2-car garage, below. Kind of unique. The hunting trophies are his (and the dogs') for Raccoon, but the knife collection is mine. ;)

That shawl looks so cool! Can't wait to see it finished - but no pressure, LOL!

Good job! And even if yours was the only entry, it’s still a good thing to have an objective input to improve.

Congratulations...on the blue ribbon, bear, and elk antlers. Your Beau and mine would get along very well.

Congrats on your blue ribbon!! Beautiful afghan with the shades of blue ... the ribbon matches nicely! :-)

VERY NICE!

So much time and keeping it neat...

My wife made a stab at knitting, more time correcting than making.

Thinking not sure, your project is crocheted?

VERY NICE!

Yes, Crocheted. It's a pattern called 'Spectrum' and I used Simply Soft yarn by Caron. I've made two others in different color schemes; one for the family room and one as a gift. I am currently on the hunt for the yarn I need for an afghan I'm going to use in our bedroom.

This one is going to get mailed to a friend - the colors don't match our house at all, but they do match hers, and a photo from Bonaire that she shared with me was the color inspiration. ;)

I may have posted these before ... but with the election just two months away, I wanted to link to this pattern in case anyone wants to make one. The design is from DeplorableKnitter and she has lots of similar patterns on her Etsy website. As you can see, I played around with the colors on my hats (I ended up making 8 of them because my son's co-workers all wanted one, and I couldn't see making all of them identical).

This was my first attempt at stranded knitting. The first couple of hats were pretty wobbly and tight, but I got the hang of it as I made more. They are worsted weight (I used Cascade 220 Superwash.)

I’m waiting for the yarn to arrive, and when it does, I will get busy, because I want to surprise my friend with it in time for the coming Hallowe’en/Day of the Dead! SO much fun to think about!

If you send me your phone number by FReepmail, I’ll make sure you get a photo so you can post it. You can do it later, of course. I can let you know when it’s done, and you can post the photo. :o]

I don’t have a smart phone - just send it to me via Freep-Mail and I’ll see if I can post it for you. :)
