I was at the big demonstration outside the Soviet Embassy protesting the KAL 007 shootdown. (The Soviets actually claimed that the flight number proved it was a spy plane.)

There were all sorts of reporters prowling around looking for aggressive quotes to use against us. One of them found me and asked what to do about the incident.

RIP Larry McDonald. The only time my husband and I have voted for a democrat was when we lived in Ga and knew him to be an avowed anti communist and a genuine honorable politician. Our son got him invited to speak at Berry Academy, in Rome, and still fondly recalls riding in his car and listening to operatic music. There was a time when some candidates for office in the south would be registered democrats for the simple fact that democrats dominated the politics of their state. No way that Larry Mc Donald would fit in the current commie democrat party. He supported the fact that this US govt is a REPUBLIC. The pledge of allegiance would describe Larry McDonald to this very day.
