Let us see how those higher numbers (heart disease, cancer, Alzheimer’s, lung disease, accidents) change this year with COVID taking out 150,000 from the other high-rist categories, and adding 9400 on its own.

Obviously what Biden was trying to say was that we have had the most deaths this year (I wonder if it is projected deaths?) than any other year for 100 years.

I wonder though - the USA last year had about 2.8 million deaths total. That is about where we are right now at the end of August. About 180,000 due to Covid-19.

In the 1918 pandemic there was an estimated 700,000 deaths in the USA due to the “Spanish Flu”. I couldn’t find the total number of deaths for the year though. Our population was much lower then, so imagine the total number of deaths was much lower. Just a guess, but I doubt we were even close to a million typical deaths in a year. Add in the Spanish Flu and that is still only 1.7 million.

So even if he was able to get the sentence out properly - it was still a lie.

Heck - with an increasing population every year, I’m guessing EVERY year is the “worst year ever” for total deaths.
