My optimistic assessment to the current lay of the land -

It is human nature for some to obsess about polls and worry that they are accurate prognosticators of elections.

In the past, I believe polls were generally decent indicators of what was happening and would happen.

This is simply NOT true in the era of Trump. The 2016 election showed this to be true. An aggregate of polling on election day showed a 98% chance that Trump would lose. Remember that?

Fact - the media bias has never been stronger than it is right now against Trump. Most of these polls are paid for by.......? The media.

Fact - Trump underperforms in polling. This was very clear in 2016 and there is no reason to believe it is any different now.

Fact - there is clearly a silent (and not so silent) group of democrats who are going to support Trump based on his performance.

Fact - Trump is outperforming prior GOP candidates with minorities (remember the magical 10% of the black vote and the democrat cannot win?).

Fact - the enthusiasm gap for Trump vs Biden with their respective bases is huge.

Fact - Trump is polling better in swing states (the ones that ultimately count and decide the election).

Fact - people are tired of the riots and disorder. Trump is against this and Biden is non-committal about it?

Fact - people are tired of the lockdowns and nanny state behavior in blue states. Trump is against this and Biden wants us all masked up until November 3rd.

With all of this said, the only poll that counts is the one taken or counted on Nov 3rd. The polls today do not guarantee Biden will win in November nor do the facts I stated above guarantee Trump will win.

Personally, I am very happy with where Trump is at in this moment in time. However, I won’t take anything for granted and will do my part to make sure he wins knowing there will be more shenanigans by the left prior to the election.

Trump is going to effectively hammer Biden on the fact that he had 47 years when his pitch was much more potent to fix things and he did little to nothing. I think Trump should have his surrogates talking about Ukraine and China corruption non-stop as well.

What will Biden attack Trump on that has not already been worn out and wrung out over the last 4 years?

On top of this, there is still a hardcore group of leftist who will not support Biden (Bernie bros and the Marxist brigade) much like many strong conservatives would not hold their nose and vote for Romney.

On top of that, many democrats (yes, democrats!) and swing voters are concerned about Biden’s health and age. OUCH!

I will not sweat the polls much between now and then and overall I am pretty happy with the trend lines that matter more than the media generated polls. You should be too.

Trump appears to have all of the upside right now and his primary opponent is NOT Biden - it is the media. A media that most Americans no longer trust.
