I’ll try to remember it.
Several years ago I put in an application at SLED for IT tech job. I was maybe 50% of what they were looking for.
Amazingly enough, I made it to an interview. When I got there I expected it to be a fairly strict and structured event.
My panel consisted of several people. Technical and at least higher up investigator. After about 15 minutes, you’d think I’d worked there for years. Everyone was very cordial and polite.
At the time I was a contractor person where I am now and didn’t see it going far beyond. Anyway, that didn’t pan out at SLED but I went full time and made a lot more.
However, I think I would have liked a technical job at SLED.
I have some acquaintances who work for SLED. For the most part they seem very professional and above board. A lot of their investigations involve IT and IT forensics. Valuable tools in fight against child predation and human trafficking. The problem they have is retaining good people. The pay is no where comparable to the private sector.
