I lost my father to Alzheimers. It is a cruel, sad thing to see a once-fine mind crumble into nothing...
To me, it was like watching the lights of a great city blink off -- one by one...
And, it never really improves...
I pray for Joe's family; they -- not he --- are the ones who will feel the pain...
And, I curse the ones who are using him so cruelly -- instead of allowing him to fade with dignity -- surrounded by love...

I completely lost my mother to that dreadful disease Alzheimer’s on July 31, 2018. Consequently, I agree with your comments and have posted numerous times on various venues that his family should be protecting him from further embarrassment/humiliation. Despite my disagreement with the politics, his person deserves dignity.
Personally, I find this entire situation abhorrent. ~ Lots more to my mother’s story. Suffice it to say that I did the best I could while living 500+ miles away while my sibling lived within half a mile. For some unfathomable reason, said sibling and family found Mother’s situation humorous.
Difficult times...
((hugs))
