Few years back couple of my coworkers were doing a freeway sampling job and the over seeing highway dept engineer found a semi auto in a jack in the box bag. The rig operator told him to quit pointing it all around and at him. Guy proceeded to drop the mag and was following through with raising it up to his head to pull the trigger and “demonstrate it was unloaded” when the operator snatched it out of his hand and jacked the live round out of the chamber.
The idiot was all freaked out about almost killing himself. Then he gave the gun to one of the maintenance shop guys. Meantime HP had been called, so they had to go track it down. Funny thing, no one was issued so much as a citation between idiot and shop dude. God forbid it would have been one of us serfs on the bequest side of that stupidity.
