Moving to Indiana and a county that is Chicago East.
Know some folks with a beach house there (across the road deeded access). One night when the power went out, they immediately got in the car and drove back to Streeterville. Didn’t even wait to see how long the outage was.
I suppose the property values in Michigan City and environs are skyrocketing.

Scary stupid.
Safety should always be the absolute top priority in choosing where to live--unsafe area is a total deal breaker.
