I work TX elections. The DMV offices are utilized by Harris County for purposes of identification. The law requires a photo ID. Make sure you are registered to vote with the county clerk and any other papers that DMV might have given you to show you are waiting to receive your TX ID. Sometimes voters have to bring the photo copy of their license until the hard copy arrives.Should you encounter problems when you VOTE IN PERSON the election judge can track down your info or ascertain your voting eligibility. You have tons of days in Oct to vote early starting Oct 13.
The Harris County Judge & the Democrat County Clerk have approved a big pot of money for use in this election.That is probably what you are seeing when you get pre-filled voter forms in the mail. The property taxes continue to rise in TX and this is what they use the money for....
The DMV gave me nothing. They said I had to have an appointment and they are currently not accepting appointments because all appts for the next 6 months are taken.
