Not a fan of redoing old songs.
I am going to listen to that on my Car Alexa on the drive home from work today :)
I’m of two minds on this- some songs should be left as they are, but with many the remixes and cover versions are a great way to bring classics to a new generation. When I broadcast, playing the original of a song more than ten years old will cause listenership to drop but the remix/remake can turn it into a hit again.
If Bob were still alive and gave his consent, that’s one thing.
Kind of like when Kenny G, decided that he was worthy of doing a “duet” with Satchmo.
You have a valid point. Not sure who holds the copyright but I would expect that it was done with the support of his family.
In half an hour I’ll be broadcasting a set that will be opening with soul/house and ramping it up to high-energy house & EDM. WARNING: You might get pulled over for speeding ;)
