Yeah-- and all those folks doing celestial navigation would have been winding up in some strange places, too...
Besides, "Stellarium" still shows Polaris near the center of its equatorial grid.

I just put a couple of bricks under one leg of the Celestron’s tripod to compensate. More than two, though, and I’ll have to give up the hobby as the whole thing will tip over.

It would take a incredible amount of energy to make the earth to rotate 1200 miles.
