Where did the exaggerated fears come from? From the government/media hysteria that started in March. The democrats saw an opportunity within seconds of finding out about the disease. They would shut the country down, crash Trump’s economy and blame it on him, keep people glued to their TVs to find out about the chinese virus. They they would introduce a stealth candidate and use the virus as an excuse to show him ONLY through carefully edited videos.

I absolutely agree. I don't think it was nefariously pre-planned in collusion with the Chicoms (although maybe it was), but I think the Dems saw the opportunity once the shutdown was proposed, and the Dem leaders war-gamed their strategy with their Media stooges - and they have run with it ever since.
Once the genie was let out of the bag (at the prodding of the bureaucratic 'doctors' Fauci and Brix) - and the hysteria was allowed to get traction - its been nearly impossible for President Trump to slam on the brakes to this insanity. We 'suicided' our economy and destroyed many more lives - than were saved - by taking our approach.

Let's be honest, in February and early March we had all seen the response by the ccp to Wuhan. I'm as FluBro as they come, but at the time we didn't know anything about this bug. But as early as May it was apparent that it wasn't worth shutting down the economy over.
